CCF Earth Award 2015 - Sediment Management at the Patawalonga lakes System

10.09.2015 16:30

Maritime Constructions are proud to announce that we were recently awarded our fifth CASE / CCF Earth Award for the Sediment Management of the Patawalonga Lakes System (Category 1 - projects up to $2million). The project involved the dredging of the Patawalonga sediment basins, dewatering of the sediment in geotextile tubes, and preparation of the material for beneficial re-use through a process of bioremediation.

Our innovative dewatering solution ensured zero return of silts to the water column and vast improvement to environmental amenity, in a project that involved multiple stakeholders and a keen community interest. This paired with the transformation of the contaminated spoil into a certified organic, nutrient dense soil improver saw us provide a holistic solution to the client, beyond the scope of the tender.

Delivering specialist and innovative marine infrastructure solutions takes a united team of quality, experienced people. To be recognised consistently for our dedication to the improvement of our environment is something we take great pride in, and plan to continue to achieve long into the future.

Maritime wins 2012 Engineering Excellence Award and Commences Elizabeth Quay Jetty Project

20.09.2012 13:35

Maritime Constructions was recently announced as winner of the WA 2012 Engineering Excellence Award in the category of "Engineering for Regional Communities" for the work done on the design and construction of Anthon Landing Jetty in Wyndham, WA.

The $6m jetty and multi-user berthing facility at Wyndham, completed in October 2011, is a boon to the valuable tourism trade, a hub for community events and a focal point for future development of one of Australia’s most remote towns.

Maritime has also just commenced work on a $7 million contract for the reconfiguration of the existing Barrack Street jetties as part of the Forward Works program of the Elizabeth Quay project.

On 18 August 2012, WA Planning Minister John Day announced award of the contract citing Maritime Constructions' construction methodology, experience and approach to working in an area that attracts high volumes of pedestrian, road and marine traffic.

"Effective project execution often involves more than technical competence. We see many benefits in closely partnering with client, contractor and community, and we're thrilled to be participating in the Elizabeth Quay development".
