Maritime Constructions is involved with the Design and Construct of a timber export facility at Kangaroo Island for our client Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers (KIPT).

Part of the design is the installation of a large floating barge to function as a wharf. After extensive searches in the Asia Pacific region to either build a new barge or purchase a second hand one, a suitable barge was located with Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, Korea.

We took delivery of the barge on 27 September. The barge will now be transported to a shipyard in the region for refurbishments and modification to suit the project requirements.
