Case Study

Spencer Gulf Buoys

Programmed maintenance to nine existing Australian Marine Safety Authority (AMSA) buoys was required to ensure the continued safety of commercial shipping in Spencer Gulf waters, South Australia.

Maritime Constructions versatile construction vessel MV Andrew Wilson and crew were deployed to the project which had a number of challenges.

Close consultation with the client ensured the project was completed in a timely fashion despite the very weather sensitive works required and the interruption of the Christmas season.

Project specific improvements were made to both the vessel itself and the on-deck crane to ensure the safe deployment of large buoys and heavy mooring chain.

Scope of Work

To provide a vessel and personnel to assist with the recovery, inspection and redeployment of nine navigation buoys.
